Hi, I’m Rosemary Sunshine Gray
Wine Featurette is a blog/email subscription service providing short wine features and offers. I also host educational wine events, write wine marketing content and help people find whatever wines they’re searching for. Follow along and reach out to me anytime you’re interested in ordering the featured wines (even wines not on offer/feature may be available – just ask!).
I have been a dedicated wine professional for over twelve years, and have worked in New York, California and Idaho with leading retailers, wholesalers, restaurants and wineries. I specialize in the wines of Champagne, Germany, Austria and Sherry, but can provide expertise on a wide scope of old world and new world wines and spirits. I maintain a brisk schedule of winery visits, tastings and studies in an effort to enrich these proficiencies. Wine Featurette exists so I can share this learning and exploration with you.
In 2012 I co-founded Sherryfest with business partner Peter Liem, author of Sherry, Manzanilla and and forthcoming book ChampagneWe began Sherryfest as a passion project and have since hosted Sherryfest in New York, Portland, Toronto, San Francisco and Chicago. Every other year Sherryfest returns to New York and has become one of the world’s largest and most prominent celebrations of sherry wine.
In continuation of over a decade of experience as a wine retailer, I also write offers and provide sales and event support for Convive Wine & Spirits in New York City. Convive is a fun, smart shop located in alphabet city. This neighborhood has been my home in New York for almost a decade, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of Convive’s contribution to our community. I am also honored to have worked with leading wine professionals at Flatiron Wines, SevenFifty, Chambers Street Wines, Grand Cru Selections, and the Boise Co-op Wine Shop.
I travel frequently to various cities and wine regions in the US and Europe. Currently based in Sacramento, New York City and Épernay, I am originally from the intermountain west and grew up in Idaho and Utah. I have degrees in English and Philosophy from the College of Idaho.
At the core of my work is a belief in the nobility of service and care. Wine relays a diversity of stories, and through these conversations we can enjoy communion and better understanding.
