2017 Sherryfest NYC

This year is the 5th anniversary of Sherryfest! Peter and I created Sherryfest in 2012 simply because we thought it would be fun to throw a big sherry party. Never before had anyone in the United States hosted a sherry-only walk around tasting… why not try?

With a little luck, the producers supported us and we received backing from the Consejo… before we knew it Sherryfest became a week-long festival including nine dinners, five seminars, and a grand tasting with over 100 sherries! That first year we didn’t even have an official mailing list – everything was promoted through my personal email account and our own social media (well before Instagram took off). Every registration was personally confirmed, every seat manually booked. I still cannot fathom how we pulled it all off. But here we are five years and eight Sherryfests later.

Though we have evolved, Sherryfest is still really just us. A project of heart and sweat, supported by the region and made possible with our wonderful team (pictured above, thank god for them). The producers come together, excellent venue partners bring passion, and your participation makes the dream come true…

Please join us for a dinners, lunch, seminars, parties, and, of course, the Grand Tasting!

Cheers,
Rosemary

This year I am most excited for the Collectors’ Lunch at North End Grill. Chef Eric Korsch and Wine Director Jeff Taylor have prepared a sherry-focused delightful Sundaymenu! Guests are encouraged to bring their own bottle of sherry to share (La Paulée style). We’ll be procuring a number of rare and fine selections too – there will be plenty of the world’s best sherry to go around, and a craft sherry cocktail to greet you. This event will be very intimate with a few of our visiting producers and representatives of the region. I’m not always in New York these days – so I hope you’ll join me for lunch (and any events below 🙂 ) and help us celebrate sherry wine once more!
